When to do it in Ibiza
- Opening: April to May, before temperatures rise. By June every company on the island is fully booked.
- Closing: October to November, when the water drops below about 15 °C and the pool stops being used.
If you're not on the island all year
Lots of people with a house in Ibiza only spend part of the year here. The easiest option is to schedule the opening: the technician has it ready a few days before you arrive and can send you a photo of the water.
In winter, with the island's mild climate, there's no need to drain the pool. Winterising plus the odd check-up visit is enough to avoid finding green water in spring.
FAQ
Should I drain the pool for winter?
No. Ibiza almost never freezes, so the pool stays full with winterising treatment. Draining it can even damage the shell.
Can I schedule the opening in advance?
Yes. Tell us when you're arriving and the technician will arrange the start-up a few days before.
What if the water is green in spring?
It's recovered as part of the opening with a shock treatment. With proper winterising it's uncommon.
